Cooling Resources In Chatham County:

Fans are available at the senior centers for people who are 60+ or are disabled

The three county libraries have been designated cooling centers:

Chatham Community Library, Pittsboro

Wren Library, Siler City

Goldston Library, Goldston

Chatham Transit is providing free rides to residents of all ages to the above cooling centers. Call 919-542-5136 and ask for a ride to the nearest one.

Sign up for the Heat Health Alert System to receive notifications when area temperatures may reach hazardous levels.
Resources for Saving Money

Funds are available to assist low and moderate income homeowners and renters to reduce energy bills. Contact energyfundsforall.org to apply or to get additional information.

Central Pines Regional Council is now in charge of weatherization services for Chatham County. Applicants get a free energy audit and may qualify for attic, wall, and floor insulation, air sealing, duct repair, heating/cooling system tune-ups or replacements, and energy-efficient lighting upgrades.
